EBC Trek and Fly Back by Helicopter

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. (1,300m/4,264ft)

    Your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu will be by the representative of K.J. Adventures. He will escort you to your hotel and help you with the check-in process. The office representative will provide you with further details regarding the adventure. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek preparation. (1,300m/4,264ft)

    On this day, we will have a leisure day in Kathmandu for a full day heritage tour around the valley. We will start the tour late in the morning and will visit four important destinations which are all enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Pashupatinath Temple Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest shrines of the Hindus. It is also considered as the largest Hindu temple in South Asia with iconic Hindu God, Goddesses and hundreds of Shiva Lingam. The two-tiered golden temple is a perfect example of the Nepalese architecture. Although tourists are not allowed inside the premises of the temple, they can witness the open cremation in the bank of the Bagmati river. Boudhanath Stupa Boudhanath Stupa is one of the biggest and oldest Buddhist monument in the world. It is Considered to be the tomb of Kassapa Buddha, Boudhanath marks as one of the most significant destinations in Buddhism. The place is no less significant when it comes to architecture. The dome-shaped stupa is built with different three levels in a Mandala style and is decorated with colorful prayer flags. The atmosphere of Boudhanath Stupa is both vibrant as well as tranquil. Kathmandu Durbar Square Located in the heart of the city, Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the ancient royalties of Nepal. The site holds the massive Royal square with varieties of temples dedicated to Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Other attraction of this place is Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, Kaal Bhairav, and Jagannath Temple. Swayambhunath Stupa Another ancient marvel located in the western hillock of Kathmandu. This Buddhist stupa is considered one of the best attraction of Kathmandu City. From ancient architecture to ancient symbolism, Swayambhunath is an important shrine in both Buddhist as well as Hindu culture. The stupa comprises many important shrines, monastery, temples, museum, and library. After the full day sightseeing, we will do the necessary preparation for the trek in the evening.   • Day 03: Domestic flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m)

    An early morning flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. This half an hour scenic flight to the Himalayas is considered as one of the most adventurous flights in the whole world. The airstrip of Lukla is one of the shortest in the world and has a single runway. Upon reaching Lukla, we’ll meet the rest of our team members. We start our trek with a gradual descend to Cheplung village that greets us with a stunning view of Mt. Khumbila. The trail continues with gradual downhills until we reach our overnight destination at Phakding. Overnight at a local teahouse.

  • Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m)

    After the early morning breakfast, we hit the trails under the cool shades of pine forest. En-route to Namche Bazaar, we first walk past the Benkar valley. We then cross over the Dudh Koshi River to reach Monjo village which leads to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. The trail then ventures through the national park via Jorsale village towards our overnight destination at Namche Bazaar. Due to its strategic location, Namche Bazaar has become the commercial hub of the Khumbu region. It greets us with a breathtaking view of Thamserku and Kongde Ri Himal.   • Day 05: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

    A much-needed acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar before trekking to higher altitudes. On this day, we explore the Sherpa town and walk around the colorful markets, internet cafes, restaurants, and shops. We can also hike up to the Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the stunning vista of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Thamserku, Nuptse, Kongde and other surrounding mountains. Overnight at a local teahouse.

  • Day 06: Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m)

    We start our adventure on a fairly easy trail towards the settlement of Phunki Tenga. Upon reaching Phunki, the trail leads to a strenuous uphill along the right bank of Dudh Koshi River to reach Tengboche. Tengboche houses the famous Tengboche Monastery which is considered as the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. The monastery is hamlet that offers a scintillating view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and several other surrounding peaks. Overnight at a local teahouse.

  • Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m)

    Our trail descends towards Debuche through the shades of lush forests of rhododendron, birch and confer. We then cross the Imja River via a suspension bridge to reach Pangboche. The trail is complemented with a breathtaking view of giant mountains in the backdrop. We continue our walk towards the Imja Valley via Pangboche Monastery and ascend to reach our overnight destination Dingboche. Overnight at a teahouse in Dingboche.

  • Day 08: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,350m)

    Another significant acclimatization day at Dingboche. Depending on our fitness condition, we can either choose to rest in the guesthouse and explore the village of Dingboche or hike to a Nagarjun to keep our feet moving. Located at the elevation of 5,100m, Nagarjun lies at the edge of Chukhung valley just above Dingboche. The hike is a steep uphill and may get a little strenuous at times. However, the magnificent panorama of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, and Taboche Peak is much more rewarding. We hike back to Dingboche for the overnight.

  • Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m)

    After breakfast at Dingboche, we make our way towards Dungla. Along the way, we will come across the Trekkers Aid Post - located at the village of Pheriche (4210m). The trail leads to a steep uphill on a moraine of Khumbu Glacier towards Chupki Lhara. The top of the ridge is decorated in prayer flags and stone shrines which are made in the memory of the fallen climbers who lost their lives in Mt. Everest. As the trail descends to the moraine of Khumbu Glacier, we find ourselves walking next to some of the highest mountains in the world until we reach Lobuche. Overnight at a local teahouse.

  • Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) & walk to Gorak Shep (5,180 m)

    This is by far the most anticipated day of this Himalayan adventure. The journey to Everest Base Camp starts with a slow walk with a gradual ascend and descend on a glacier path. After about 2-3 hours of meandering on rough terrain, we will reach Gorak Shep. The rocky terrain continues as we head towards the Everest Base Camp. Upon arriving at the base camp, we will be greeted with the amazing sight of Khumbu Icefall, Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Lingtren. After spending some time at the base camp, we retrace our rocky route back to Gorak Shep. Overnight at a local teahouse.

  • Day 11: Morning Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m),back to Gorak Shep and fly to Lukla by Helicopter:

    n early morning hike to the vantage point of Kala Patthar is one of the most amazing highlights of this trek. We start our hike early at dawn on a fairly steep trail. Upon reaching the summit of Kala Patthar, the sight of the rising sun over the Himalayan panorama is absolutely outstanding. It offers a sensational view of some of the highest mountains including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Pumori. After enjoying some unforgettable moments at the summit of Kala Patthar, we retrace our route back to Gorak Shep and take a helicopter ride to Lukla.Overnight in Lukla.

  • Day 12: Fly to Kathmandu. (1,300m/4,264ft)

    An early morning flight back to the hustle and bustle of the capital city. The 30-minutes flight back to Kathmandu concludes our trek. Upon arriving at Kathmandu and checking in to the hotel, you may choose to either rest in the hotel or wander around the city and go shopping around Thamel. In the evening, K.J. Adventures’ representative will receive you at the hotel for the farewell dinner.

  • Day 13: International Departure.

    Farewell day! The representative of K.J. Adventures will receive you from the hotel 3-hours prior to your scheduled flight. He will then transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for the final departure.
