Australian Camp - Dhampus Trek

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. (1,300m/4,264ft)

    Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative of K.J. Adventures will welcome you at the arrival gate and escort you to the hotel. He will help you through the check-in process and provide all the details regarding the program. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing (1,300m/4,264ft).

    Leisure day in Kathmandu! On this day, we will have a full day heritage tour where we will visit four important Heritage sites located in different parts of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square Located in the heart of the city, Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the ancient royalties of Nepal. The site holds the massive Royal square with varieties of temples dedicated to Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Other attractions of this place are Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, Kaal Bhairav, and Jagannath Temple. Swayambhunath Stupa Another ancient marvel located in the western hillock of Kathmandu. This Buddhist stupa is considered one of the best attraction of Kathmandu City. From ancient architecture to ancient symbolism, Swayambhunath is an important shrine in both Buddhist as well as Hindu culture. The stupa comprises many important shrines, monastery, temples, museum, and library. Pashupatinath Temple Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest shrines of the Hindus. It is also considered as the largest Hindu temple in South Asia with iconic Hindu God, Goddesses and hundreds of Shiva Lingam. The two-tiered golden temple is a perfect example of the Nepalese architecture. Although tourists are not allowed inside the premises of the temple, they can witness the open cremation in the bank of the Bagmati river. Boudhanath Stupa Boudhanath Stupa is one of the biggest and oldest Buddhist monument in the world. It is Considered to be the tomb of Kassapa Buddha, Boudhanath marks as one of the most significant destinations in Buddhism. The place is no less significant when it comes to architecture. The dome-shaped stupa is built with different three levels in a Mandala style and is decorated with colorful prayer flags. The atmosphere of Boudhanath Stupa is both vibrant as well as tranquil. After the full day sightseeing, we will do the necessary preparation for the trek in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara. (910m/2,984ft)

    In the early morning, we take our ride and drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The scenic drive via Prithvi Highway along the green valleys, terraced fields, rivers, and rocky gorges is certainly an amazing experience in itself. After a 6-hours drive along the highway, we reach Pokhara. In the afternoon, we take a short walk around the tranquil Phewa Lake. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 04: Drive to Kande, Trek to Australian Camp & Dhampus and Drive back to Pokhara. (2100m/6,890ft)

    After early morning breakfast, we take an hour-long drive to Kande from Pokhara. The roads to Kande is paved all the way and is in great condition. Upon reaching Kande, we begin our trek through the steep stone stairways to the beautiful hill station at Australian Camp. The trail fairly gets easier as we walk along the shades of a dense forest. We trek through few small settlements before arriving at the hilltop full of colorful tents and incredible mountains views. After enjoying the glorious time watching over the Himalayas, we hike down along the dense jungle trail for about an hour to reach Dhampus, a beautiful Gurung village. The village is vibrant, lively and surrounded by typical slate-roofed houses. We have our lunch at this beautiful village with a close-up view of Annapurna range. After lunch, we hike down along the terraced farmlands for about an hour to reach Phedi.We then catch our ride back to Pokhara valley from Phedi. In the evening, we take a short walk around the Lakeside and enjoy the tranquility of the place. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 05: Drive back to Kathmandu. (1,300m/4,264ft)

    After breakfast, we catch an early morning ride from Pokhara and retrace our route via Prithvi Highway back to Kathmandu. Upon arriving, we will be escorted to our hotel in Kathmandu. We can either stroll around the streets of Thamel and buy souvenirs or we can also relax in our hotel for the rest of the day. Farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 06: International Departure

    Farewell day! According to your flight schedule, the representative of K.J. Adventures will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport for the final departure.
